Agriculture: ensuring food security
Given the fact that Agriculture is a backbone for our Country and the main source of livelihood for
most rural communities RUGLI serves, we aim at improving agriculture production for food and
income security through equipping farmers with knowledge and skills on the best agronomic
practices, extension service provision and increasing access to quality seeds to improve crop yields.

Eco Briquettes
Eco briquettes have helped reduce environmental degradation by reducing on tree cutting
We use charcoal leftovers to create these small briquettes that can also be used as a source of fuel for cooking on charcoal stoves. these save trees from being cut by acting as wood fuel.
Sanitary pads
Health in school program
Sanitary pads for schoolgirls can help them attend classes during their menstrual cycles, thereby reducing absenteeism.
In Uganda, many girls skip school, during menstruation periods due to lack of sanitary pads to use. This habit leads to increased absenteeism in many of our schools, particularly in village schools and we needed to break this cycle by giving them free reusable sanitary pads to use. Secondly, the project also teaches women how to make them themselves thus creating a source of income.
Relief Support
We provided relief support to some of our organization’s member during Covid19 lockdowns most of them were affected as they single mothers. Many of them could hardly make ends meet as it was tough times all over the world. So, when we got a grant from one of our partners, we immediately reached out to them with food stuff items.
Environmental conservation
We try to conserve the envronment by planting more trees. Firstly we have a nursery bed project where ssedlings can always be planted befroe being transferred to the gardens. Secondly, we also give a certain number of young trees to our members to go and plant in their gardens to encourage them to have more trees in their gardens than they cut.
Poultry farming
This is one of our major livelihood projects across the district and we don’t take it lightly. We encourage each of our members to have at least a few birds especially chicken to rear at home. Through this, farmers are able to get eggs from it and also put some sale for income. The project enables farmers to have something to sale to get emergency income incase of an emergency at their home.
